Comments/Story:  I have found out a number of items about #1387 since I purchased it on 2-28-03.  The bike was originally purchased by Wally Pancake from Sportland Motorsports in Urbana, IL.  The bike was originally Henderson Blue out of the factory but #1387 was not the bike Wally had originally purchased.  The bike he originally purchased was Sunburnt Red/Oyster but on his ride home, he was not satisfied with the bikes performance and noticed the infamous oil puke and returned the bike to the dealer.  The dealer changed the sheet metal from the Sunburnt Red/Oyster colored bike with #1387 which was originally Henderson Blue.

On September 9th 2001 Wally dropped the bike while exiting the freeway with his girlfriend on the back.  Word is he hit some loose gravel.  (additional information regarding the accident can be found by reading message #4876 Excelsior-Henderson-Resource-Board Super X Motorcycles 1999 & 2000).  Wally has never fully recovered from the head injury he sustained in the accident.

The bike was purchased from the dealer in Urbana as a salvage bike and was restored with the paint job you can see in the picture.  The paint was done by a friend of the Auto body instructor I work with.  The dealer who did the restoration was Van's Yamaha in Sparta, Il where I first saw the bike.

After getting the bike home and adjusting the drive belt, I took it for a test ride and fell in love.  I continue to look for ways to improve what is already a great bike.  This is a keeper.
