Taming Slash Cut Mufflers

If the stock pipes are too quiet but the slash cuts are too loud, here's what you can do to tame them. (Information provided by Ken Gatlin, #466)

WARNING: Some of the pictures files are large.

1) Go out and buy supplies. You'll need to get some metal sink strainers and some curtain rod hangers.

Here's the parts laid out.

2) Fit the pieces together and secure with screws. You can tune the baffles by drilling different sized holes in the strainer tops.

3) Install in your slash cuts and enjoy your new, mellow sound.
