Your purchase of an Excelsior-Henderson Super X bike has put you in a special group of individuals. The Super X is a great heavy cruiser but it does have some special needs to keep it running factory fresh. Thanks to the wonders of the Internet, a very active social and technical community of X riders, collectors and aficionados has evolved. With the daily exchange of information among the community members, many preventive maintenance items that a new rider should perform or should confirm that have been performed on a previously owned bike are in the public domain. If these preventive maintenance items have not been performed and a previously owned bike has logged miles, the buyer can expect some repair expenses. Since there is no dealer network to speak of, the Super X Owners rely on one another for their technical information.
