Super X Paint Codes These are the official PPG paint codes used by Excelsior-Henderson. For those of us that have a Sunburnt Red/Metallic Oyster Super X, a Red Deadwood Special, or were fortunate enough to buy the Red Deadwood metal, you may already know that the Sunburnt Red (Crimson) color was never color matched by the PPG Refinish Group. Tim Briedenbach has found the PPG Color Standard (the “Master”) from PPG for OEM #S28399 Crimson Red that E-H approved on November 1, 1999. However, this color was never officially released from PPG and, as far as we know, not available. It might be possible to have a local paint shop, or PPG shop, determine the correct color mix.
