Gas Cap Seal Serial Range: 001-600 Symptom: Gas cap wetted by fuel. Some fuel seepage may be noticed at fuel cap area. Countermeasure: Order 2 ea. 2399-0065 fuel cap seals. Install the replacement seal for both fuel caps. Inspect the sealing area for the presence of masking material. Procedure: Remove both gas caps. the left side has a left-hand thread. Using a needle nose pliers, grasp the gas cap seal, pull it over the cap threads, and discard. Install the replacement seal ring by threading it onto the gas cap. Inspect the tank for masking material at the gas cap sealing areas and remove any residual material. Reinstall the gas caps. |
