X-Man's Hints and Fixes For August 18, 2002: The Super X Engine and Oil Changes
By: Bobby Baldwin

Because the Excelsior-Henderson Super X engine cases are sand cast, I recommend changing the oil every 1000-1500 miles for the first 10,000 miles.  Doing this will highly increase engine life. The sand in the cases can escape and get into the oil. My choice of oil is Mobile One.  Using a high quality oil filter is also very important.
